The product "Pacifier "AVERS" belongs to medical devices, in particular, to baby's pacifiers (dummies), intended for use by children under 4 years old.
Studies carried out by the researchers of Scientific and Production Enterprise "AVERS" have shown that one of significant drawbacks of well-known pacifiers was the form of mouthpiece. It was revealed that the common forms of mouthpiece (straight or curved to the baby's face) caused to accumulate saliva around the baby's lips, and saliva causes irritation and other dermal conditions on the baby's skin. Dermal reaction rises as saliva is opalescent liquid with a shift to alkaline pH (pH = 7.4 – 8.0). In addition, saliva contains mucin, inorganic substances (chlorides, phosphates, sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium carbonates, nitric salts, ammonia) and organic substances (globulin, amino-acids, creatinine, uric acid, urea and endocrine gland ferments) which are irritants of child’s facial skin.
One more negative feature of common forms of mouthpiece is that the mouthpiece closes air to the baby's nose when premature children use these pacifiers.
The product contains a mouthpiece curved backward, from the baby's face, it is like a mother’s bust. Such form of mouthpiece provides free access to the baby's orofacial part and does not block free access of air to his/her nose, which is of special importance to premature children.
