New non-drug method of treatment of chronic arterial deficiency of lower limbs (HANK) is based on non-invasive treatment of lower limb vessels with simultaneous exposure to the blue light spectrum and water, using phototherapeutic appliances “HANK Treatment Water and Light Bath” (Patent No. 52707) or physiotherapeutic device AVERS-Shower for hydromassage and exposure to light (Patent No. 53915). Light emission combined with water increased absorption of blue light by the skin and blood circulating in vessels close to the surface. Water temperature limits are also of great importance. Optimum temperature mode is achieved at 37ºÑ …40ºÑ, for this range provides for maximum modulation of the blood vessels’ receptor system responsible for their tone. In addition, absorption of blue light by skin and blood receptors promotes regulation of many systems within human body, including the blood flow condition and vascular system. Under the influence of blue light, the blood in vessels produces nitrogen oxide, which promotes further expansion of the vessels.
