This device is for directly treating the inflamed areas, curing pain, restoring the gum's blood circulation, especially on the microcirculation level. The device it self looks like a "U" shaped mouth guard, molded out of medical silicon, and due to its construction, it allows irradiation (at λ 450 nm ± 5nm) to affect the surface of the gums more effectively.
In the test phase, one more positive effect of the blue light was found. All the metal containing bacteria, producing black pigment, and causing periodontitis. Usually they are the P.gingivalis, P.intermedia, P.nigrescens and P.melaninogcnica. When blue light irradiates the area, the bacteria dies within a few minutes. This all went into the basis of teeth whitening.
The device is easy to disinfect.
